Word on the street is this multi-cultural cosmetic and anti-aging medical spa in the Washington, D.C. area has custom facials, microdermabrasion and acne treatments that are to-die-for. The popular fat and cellulite-busting treatment, Lipodissolve, is also on its menu. We’re anxious to check it out and plan to holla back soon with the scoop. Stay tuned! MD Rejuvenation Clinic, (443) 283-0600, www.mdrclinic.com.

J. Lo put it on the map, but airbrush make-up officially became the sh!t when media outlets reported former vice president “Mr. Global Warming’s Gonna Kill Us,” Al Gore, liked to wear it, too.  Like many of philosophy’s fab products, the supernatural ($35) airbrush canvas is heaven in a handy, teeny-tiny jar. This mineral foundation boasts clean, natural and fresh-looking coverage with a built-in sponge that makes application a cinch. Available in several shades for beauty lushtresses of most skin tones. We luv it!

Right now, we’re crushing hard on these Topix mini glycolic pads ($13.50) that cleanse + tone at the same time.  Perfect companions for an overnight stay at the boyfriend’s, or when time is of the essence.  Just grab one, swipe, moisturize and go!  We found that using them once or twice a week (rather than every day) helps maintain a fresh glow without drying out the skin. We’ve yet to see them at the popular drug stores, but they’re available at the SkinStore where shipping’s always free.

Get Your Shine On

We get it. You want to shine. And you’ll do just about anything until you do.    Which means, if you’re like us, you’ve had egg (and mayo) on your head and hot oil run down your face—and yet nothing. Still dry, brittle and lackluster.  Enter  center stage Farouk’s BioSilk Silk Therapy. Finally, you can get your shine on with this greaseless serum (CVS, $12.49), which is sure to bling whether your ’do is  curly, straight, natural, relaxed, real or fake. Feel free to dab or douse, hell, it doesn’t matter, as this weightless potion won’t build up or weigh down. Just hurry, your 15 minutes of shine starts now!

Beauty Lush Tip: For an extra five in the limelight, give your arms, legs and who-who’s a rub down, too.

Quiet Confidence

Like most ladies, our tolerance for pick-up lines and cat calls is pretty low. But, surprisingly, a recent strange guy come-on (“You smell good, can I have a taste?”) actually left us laughing and relishing Bvlgari’s Pour Femme Jeweler perfume ($145). The soft, dainty limited edition fragrance boasts an oh-so perfect mix of jasmine, rose and citrus—making it just right for the balmy dog days of summer. And though it’s light, this Swarvoski crystal-encrusted bottle of smell-good stands its ground against the most aggressive and over-the-top staple summertime scents (anti-perspirants, lotions and body soaps). Ahh, we just love a smell with confidence!

The Magic Wheel

GoJane’s uber cheap eyeshadow wheels ($1.99) are magically fabulicious. For the first time in eyeshadow history, all seven shades (yes, seven!) in this wheel deal are actually useable and workable on all skin shades. This palm-size compact rivals higher end brands (dare we say, Chanel) in quality, shade combo and staying power. Plus, the convenient center mirror and mini applicator brush are charmingly perfect for on-the-fly pre-paparazzi touch ups.  Enjoy!

Coming soon: Beauty Lush Tips mini-video featuring a few alternative uses we’ve uncovered for this rockin’ eyeshadow. Stick around, it’s worth the wait!

A Hairy Issue

nair-cocoa-butter.jpg

It’s no secret that as an eclectic group of women, we have varying hair textures.  Not just on our heads, but also under our arms, on our legs, and even down there.  And for some of us, this generally means conventional drug store hair removal products just don’t cut it.  Enter Nair.  Yes, old school, back-in-the-day, Nair depilatory cream.  We’re certain Nair has improved its formula since its hey-dey because the Lotion for Body with Cocoa Butter (CVS,$6.49) leaves gams and bikini lines sleek and silky in about five minutes (a little longer than the three minutes promised) whether your hair is coarse, fine or somewhere in between. While it hasn’t delivered stubble-free underarms as we’d like, two out of three hair-free areas ain’t so bad.

Check out our Beauty Lush Tips for the dish on how to achieve the best results.
